Outside of their native Sweden, Gothenburg electronic pop duo The Tough Alliance are an elusive pair. Conducted over email, and with no indication as to which of the two is doing the answering, the interview finds them uncomfortable divulging anything about their creative process and deriding the "lazy and boring" sectors of the media. While the pair are clearly passionate about their art, with a subversive, anarchic mindset reminiscent of a fledgling KLF, it's fairly surprising to discover their tendency for lip-syncing during live shows. Tellingly, they describe their own anti-movement as "It is what it is, dude."
